Volleyball Attacking Drill: Transition to Attack
This drill improves timing and movement when transitioning into an attack.

Instructions: Start behind the 10-foot line and time your adjustment step to setter contact or ball peak. Drive your arms forward and let them beat your feet into a fast, explosive step-close. Open to the setter and wrap your approach around the outside of the ball, finishing loaded and balanced. Progress by starting at the net, taking a big open step off, crossing over with your body facing the destination, and throwing your hips into a loaded position before attacking. Stay low through the transition, keep your weight forward on your lead leg, and use your arms to generate lift and power through contact.
Reps: 3–4 sets x 8–10 reps per phase
