Football Drill for Wide Receivers: Release Technique

This drill improves release moves and separation from defenders.

Instructions: Start in a disciplined line drill stance and stay tight to the bag or defender. In Phase 1, execute a speed release by exploding off the ball, dipping your shoulder, and restacking on your line without drifting. In Phase 2, add a single jab, attacking one direction with your head, eyes, and shoulders matching the movement before bursting back on your path. In Phase 3, use a double jab to sell the defender twice, then release clean and restack vertically. Protect your chest, stay efficient with your feet, and win early to get back on your line fast.

Reps: 3–4 sets x 5–8 reps per phase
